SubCargo Tools & Utilities

Site checklists, dock shopping priorities, and in-game tool references for alpha crews.

SubCargo Crew Tools Hub

SubCargo is a cooperative submarine survival experience from DeltaCore Studio, currently playable in Roblox alpha. Runs live or die on preparation: the right shop purchases, the right crew assignments, and the right repair tools when Larry or a hull breach turns a delivery into a rescue mission. This hub collects every practical tool page on the wiki so you can plan before you queue.

Whether you are assembling a two-player rookie crew or a four-player specialist squad, start here when you want checklists instead of scattered Discord tips.

What belongs in Tools

The Tools category covers two kinds of resources:

  1. Wiki utilities — printable-style checklists, shopping guides, and reference pages you can skim between runs.
  2. In-game tools overview — welders, wrenches, extinguishers, and other Underforge gear that keep the submarine alive underwater.

Combat weapons live under Krakken’s Arsenal shopping notes and the tier list, not here. This hub focuses on survival infrastructure: fuel, repairs, fire control, and crew coordination.

Crew Checklist

The most important page for co-op groups. It breaks duties into pilot/navigator, engineer/repairs, diver/loot, and gunner roles with separate pre-dive and dock-side lists. If your crew argues about who watches ballast while someone shops at ReCore, send them here first.

Alpha sessions punish vague responsibilities. One person silently fixing walls while the pilot dives without fuel is a classic failure state. The checklist makes implicit jobs explicit before you leave the dock.

Dock Shops Guide

Every dock in SubCargo spawns three vendors:

  • Underforge — maintenance tools (welder, wrench, spraygun, extinguisher, scrap collector, mop).
  • ReCore — fuel rods ($320 each) plus a free rod on top of the shop every game.
  • Krakken’s Arsenal — handheld and submarine-mounted weapons.

The dock guide explains shopping priorities for early alpha credits, when to skip luxury buys, and how to split purchases across roles. It also links to weapon tier discussion on the tier list so gunners do not overspend before the crew has a welder.

Items and Data Chips

Structure loot is not equal. Since alpha 0.2.0, Data Chips are structure exclusives that shops do not replace. This page ranks when diving beats shopping, which structure types drop what, and why scrap collectors stay an Underforge purchase.

In-game tools at a glance

According to community documentation for the current alpha build, Underforge sells six core tools (plus a red mop variant):

ToolPrimary use
WelderHull repairs (~11 seconds per wall from 0% to 100%)
WrenchSystem maintenance and mechanical fixes
SpraygunUtility tasks around the submarine
Fire ExtinguisherContain onboard fires before they spread
Scrap CollectorGather seafloor materials during dives
MopClean fluids and reduce slip hazards

Engineers often spawn with a welder depending on role selection, but buying a backup at Underforge for $230 is cheap insurance. See crew roles for who should carry which tool by default.

How wiki tools connect to guides

Tools pages answer what to buy and who holds it. Guide pages answer what to do when things go wrong.

Cross-read these paths before your first serious delivery attempt:

  • Getting Started — controls, first objectives, and alpha expectations.
  • Delivery guide — route planning, cargo handling, and return timing.
  • Beat Larry — when the Blood Worm attacks hull or crew.

If you are new to Barotrauma-style subs, treat Tools as your pre-flight packet and Guides as your in-mission manual.

Site utilities on this wiki

Beyond SubCargo-specific pages, this category may grow calculators, loadout planners, or patch-day shopping diff lists as alpha updates land. For now, the highest-value utilities are the crew checklist and dock shops references because they directly reduce wipe frequency.

Bookmark this hub and share it in lobby chat when recruiting randoms. Alpha is unstable by design; consistent crew procedure is the one advantage you control.

Quick alpha reminder

SubCargo remains in early-access alpha. Systems break, ballast behaves oddly in some builds, and patch notes can reshuffle prices overnight. Re-read Dock Shops after major updates and check Alpha Overview for known pain points before blaming your engineer.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for SubCargo crews in Roblox alpha.

What is the difference between Tools and Guides on this wiki?

Tools pages are quick-reference utilities—checklists, shop lists, and gear summaries. Guides are longer walkthroughs for missions, bosses, and mechanics like deliveries or Larry fights.

Which tool should I buy first at Underforge?

Welder is the highest priority for most crews because hull breaches end runs fast. Engineers may spawn with one, but a backup welder for $230 is a smart early purchase if credits allow.

Where do I find weapons versus repair tools?

Repair and utility tools come from Underforge at every dock. Weapons are sold at Krakken's Arsenal. Fuel rods come from ReCore, including one free rod on top of the shop each game.

Are these tool pages updated for every alpha patch?

We update prices and tool lists when community sources or patch notes confirm changes. Always cross-check the Updates hub after a major DeltaCore build drops.

Can I use the crew checklist with only two players?

Yes. The checklist marks which duties merge when running duo—typically pilot/nav plus engineer/gunner, with diver tasks split between both players during loot stops.
